The Aurum patient is an industrious workaholic, driven by ambition, a sense of higher purpose, honour and duty.
They feel huge pressure to achieve and although they are often go-getters at the top of their game, underneath there is guilt, shame and intense fear of failure.
Even if not in charge of other people, Aurum will feel a strong responsibility for others, which can feel increasingly like a burden.
Aurum, one of the great anti-syphilitic remedies, tends towards addictions and other destructive behaviour, or high-risk sports. They often serious and closed, with strong opinions on what is right and wrong.
Perhaps best known for their deep depressive states leading to suicidal thoughts and impulses (to jump from a height), it’s worth remembering that not all patients needing this remedy will be in this dark phase
But they will feel intensely, and can suffer greatly from grief, losses and perceived humiliation.
They are prone to heart issues, high blood pressure and problems with their joints and bones – the pains are intense, tormenting and worse at night but with general amelioration in the evening.
